CONFUSION IN SEN. DINO MELAYE'S RECALL

 Some aggrieved people of Okun extraction from Kogi west senatorial district have expressed dissatisfaction over claims by a group called “Okun Development Initiative’s contained in some national dailies aligning prominent Okun leaders with the embattled senator.

 The group led by Hon.Olowu Cornelius which addressed a press conference in Lokoja yesterday explained that the Okun Development Initiative (ODI) is strange and unknown to Okun land, pointing out that the only recognized association that has been serving the umbrella body for all Okuns, the Okun Development Association (ODA) under the leadership of Ambassador Paul Fadunmiyo.

 Hon. Cornelius stated further that some hired elements were being used to thwart the true positions of the people by misrepresenting the real leadership of the Okun people in such a serious matter as recall of a representative from the national assembly.

 He explained that the recall of Melaye from the senate is the decision of the constituents and not only the Okun voters.

They therefore called on all constituents that signed to recall the senator to remain resolute and ensure that a failed representative is recalled.

 It would be recalled that a group called Okun Development Initiative announced over the weekend that Okun leadership is supportive of senator Melaye.

 It was reported that Prominent Okun leaders are against Dino’s recall by the constituents.
